EF#31 Undervalued vs Overvalued

For those who haven’t know about BEC, this is a place for you to practice your English writing. Once in two weeks, the admins of BEC will inform about the theme of the challenge. And after that, it’s your turn to write the challenge on your blog.
You don’t have to worry, ashamed, or feel shy. In BEC we all learn together. One writing will be picked, and we will check and discuss it for a better English. We might make mistakes, but we need to know the mistakes. And after that we learned a new thing. So why should we feel embarrassed? English is not our first language, isn’t it? 🙂
Okay, enough with the introduction. Just want to inform you that you all welcome to do the challenge. And for this week challenge is about Undervalued vs Overvalued.

Some people feel that certain workers like nurses, doctors and teachers are undervalued and should be paid more, especially when other people like entertainers (e.g. film stars, pop musicians or sports stars) are paid huge sums of money that are out of proportion to the importance of the work that they do.

How far do you agree with this opinion?

My opinion about the statement above is I don’t think we should not differentiate between the job that should be paid more or not.

I assume when you do that, you will divide of what kind of job which is hard and easy, important and unimportant, and so on (relate to the statement “out of proportion to the importance of the work that they do”). It means the one which is hard and important should be paid more, vice versa.

But for me, every kind of job has its own hardships and challenges. We can’t judge someone’s occupation if we are not the one who are in their shoes.

Back to the statement above. I think both kind of type job should have to be appreciated by anyone. They deserve to have back something that they already fighting for. And what they get it’s not all about the money. Maybe appreciation, loyalty, reward, and many things.

So, I disagree with choosing between Undervalued and Overvalued 🙂

What say you?
